This is a cut view of a typical wood hood. The floor of the hood should be the only partition inside the hood. The floor must be at least 2" to 4" up inside the hood to provide an adequate capture area of vapors. A drawing of a wood hood from Betlan
Filters and lights will be installed at this level on the interior floor of the hood

The floor area of the hood must be large enough to accommodate the filters, the lights and the switches. To have an internal blower, the internal area of the hood must be large enough to fit the blower.

This is a wood hood that has an arched front and rear.

The underside edges are not covered with stainless because the raw edge of the steel would be visible
If the hood has an arch, the floor should be 2" to 4" above the arch
