Fine cabinetry hoods are made into fully functional units with lights, filters, switches, and internal blowers. Exposed surfaces on the underside of the hood are lined with stainless. The interior chamber contains an internal hood with a blower. In line attic or roof / wall mount, fans are also alternatives.

The hood to the right has an arched front and rear.

The floor area of the hood must be large enough to accommodate the filters, the lights and the switches. To have an internal blower, the internal area of the hood must be large enough to fit the blower.

A minimum height of 8" to 10" is required if an external fan is being used. 16" is required to fit a smaller size fan in the interior of the hood and 17" to 18" for larger fans.
